Monterey County Board of Supervisors Reviewed Oak Woodland Conservation Area Concepts

The Monterey County Board of Supervisors received a presentation from Resource Management Agency Service Manager Melanie Beretti on June 19, 2018. They discussed the current draft Oak Woodland Conservation Areas and took action to select the development of a draft management and monitoring plan based on concept with an area of over 100 acres in County lands. Seaside City Council Review of Oak Woodland Area Concepts

The City Council of Seaside received a presentation from Denise Duffy & Associates’ Erin Harwayne on May 17, 2018. They discussed the current draft Oak Woodland Conservation Areas and indicated general preference for the development of a draft management and monitoring plan based on a 48-acre area in City of Seaside. Monterey County Board of Supervisors Fort Ord Committee

Date/Time:  February 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.

Location: Monterey County Government Center, 2nd Floor Conference Room, 168 West Alisal Street, Salinas

 The Fort Ord Committee received a status update regarding Oak Woodland Conservation Plan (OWCP) on the former Fort Ord and considered their recommendation to the Board of Supervisors on Oak Woodland Conservation Area concepts. Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Seaside

Date/Time:  November 16, 2017 at 5:30 p.m.

Location: City Hall Chambers, 440 Harcourt Avenue, Seaside

The  Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Seaside (aka Oversight Committee) received a presentation on the progress of preparation of an Oak Woodland Conservation Plan (OWCP) on the former Fort Ord and discussed proposed Oak Woodland Conservation Area concepts which could be presented at the next public workshop. Since the last public workshop, the County, City, FORA, and DD&A have met with the City of Marina, CSUMB, MPC, and UCFONR to discuss potential conservation areas and constraints with property owners. The results of those discussions were presented to the Oversight Committee.
